A Sherpa Welcome in the Heart of Namche
Built on local roots, warm hospitality, and a deep respect for mountain life.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Our Story
Namche Terrace grew from a simple idea to create a place where travellers feel genuinely cared for, connected to the landscape, and at home in the Himalayas. Not a transit stop. Not just a bed. A real place, rooted in where it stands.

ALTITUDE HEALTH
Our Sherpa Roots
Our identity is inseparable from the Khumbu. The values that shape how we welcome guests warmth, attentiveness, pride in our work come directly from how Sherpa communities have always lived and treated those who pass through. Hospitality here is not a service. It is personal. It is who we are.
What We Believe
Five convictions that shape everything we do at Namche Terrace.

Comfort matters at altitude.
At 3,440m, rest is not a luxury it is essential. We design every room and every detail around genuine physical comfort.

Good food brings people together.
Every evening the dining room fills with shared plates, hot tea, and stories from the trail one of the simplest joys of a day at altitude.
What We Believe
Five convictions that shape everything we do at Namche Terrace.

Hospitality should feel personal.
Every guest is different. We learn names, remember preferences, and treat each stay as a relationship, not a transaction.

Travel should respect place.
The Khumbu is not a backdrop. It is someone's home. We ask guests to move through it with care and genuine curiosity.

The journey should feel supported.
Trekking is demanding. We take that seriously and make sure no guest ever feels alone in figuring things out.
RESPONSIBLE HOSPITALITY
Sustainability & Community Support
We believe responsible hospitality must do more than provide comfort — it should actively support the local economy, reduce environmental impact, and respect the extraordinary landscape that makes this region so special. These are not policies. They are commitments we return to every day.
Local Sourcing
We prioritise local suppliers, fresh regional produce, and Nepali-made products wherever possible — keeping value in the community.
Community Support
From employing local staff to supporting community projects in Namche, we invest in the village that makes this lodge possible.
Thoughtful Hospitality
We reduce single-use plastics, manage waste carefully, and ask guests to join us in treating the Khumbu with the respect it deserves.
Respect for the Khumbu
Everything we do is shaped by a deep commitment to leaving this place better than we found it — for the mountains and the people who call it home.
